I’m 47 and been walking consistently about four miles a day, four to five times a week. About four years ago I started getting a sharp pain in my left foot while walking one day (I thought I tore something). I went to my doctor and they took x-rays and all but found nothing. A couple of years go by and I keep trying to walk but in pain all of the time. It got to a point where I had constant pain in my left foot while just standing. It started to affect my right foot over time from over compensating. I finally went to another doctor last year and he suggested custom arch supports. He said my insurance does not cover it and recommended me to a friend of his. He said they cost about $400 for a pair. I thought that was too much so I never went to see him. Well about a week and a half ago I really pushed myself trying to walk and must have hit a nerve of something. The pain was so bad in both feet by now that I stopped walking all last week. Sunday night (8/31/08) I went walking with my wife. I was in a lot of pain so I walked slowly. So slow that heavy set women were passing me by. I’m not use to that because I walked about 4.3 miles per hour (I’m 175 lbs and 5’-11”). Believe me, I been doing this a long time now and in fairly good shape. I could hardly get 2 miles in before quitting and had my wife drive us home. Late that night I’m lying in bed (around 1:00 AM Monday, Labor Day). I’m flipping through the channels while my wife is rubbing my feet and came across the infomercial for Walk Fit. I get the phone and place an automated order for two pairs, only to get pissed off when they signed me up for every other product I didn’t want. It made me so mad that I called them back and spoke to a sales person and said I want to cancel my order. He said I would have to call their customer service and cancel. Later that morning I called and cancelled my order. I still wanting to try them so I found them online and called a local dept. store and found them there (on Labor Day). I put them in my NB shoes and went walking. Immediately I could tell this was going to work. I went walking at the park around 11:30 AM by myself and was able to walk my full speed and got in 5 miles (I kid you not). No pain! All of the sharp jolts of pain that use to run up my legs are now gone. I came home and wrote to review. The only sad thing is that I didn’t find out about them four years ago.
